Vishwanath And Sons Enters Rs 100 Crore Club, Becomes Suriya’s Fastest Film To Reach Milestone Beating Karuppu

Suriya has added another Rs 100 crore grosser to his 2026 box office run, with Vishwanath And Sons crossing the milestone within two days of its theatrical release. Directed by Venky Atluri, the Tamil-Telugu film stars Suriya and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles and opened in cinemas on August 14. The film has reportedly recorded strong numbers worldwide since its release. Its latest box office milestone also puts it ahead of Karuppu, Suriya's earlier 2026 release, which took three days to enter the Rs 100 crore club. Vishwanath And Sons has now become Suriya's fastest film to reach the mark.

Vishwanath And Sons Crosses Rs 100 Crore In Two Days

Producer Sithara Entertainments announced on Sunday that Vishwanath And Sons had crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in worldwide theatrical gross within two days of its release. The production house shared the milestone on social media, writing, "Vishwanath and Sons hits it out of the park and smashes a 100cr+ in just 2 days. #BlockbusterVAS running successfully in cinemas near you."

The latest achievement also gives Suriya a new box office record in terms of the speed with which one of his films has entered the Rs 100 crore club. Earlier this year, Suriya starred in Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. The film went on to become a major commercial success, earning more than Rs 300 crore worldwide. However, Karuppu took three days to cross the Rs 100 crore mark. Vishwanath And Sons has managed to achieve the same milestone in just two days, reaching the benchmark a day earlier. This makes Vishwanath And Sons the fastest Suriya-starrer to enter the Rs 100 crore club. It also marks the actor's second consecutive film in 2026 to cross the milestone.

Directed by Venky Atluri, Vishwanath And Sons centres on Sanjay Vishwanath, played by Suriya. His character is a competitive pistol shooter who has won a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The story takes a dramatic turn when Sanjay's only child, Abhay, is diagnosed with a serious health condition. The development forces Sanjay to confront several personal and emotional issues while also reconnecting with Maddy, the child's surrogate mother.

As the story progresses, Sanjay's relationship with Maddy becomes an important part of the narrative, while his son's condition forces him to revisit unresolved aspects of his past. The film combines family drama with emotional conflict and sports-related elements, with Suriya playing a character whose personal life becomes increasingly complicated following his child's diagnosis.
