Shaurya Bhattacharya Leads Kolar Open with a 68
Kolar, August 18, 2026: Delhi's Shaurya Bhattacharya took a one-shot lead by shooting a 4-under 68 in the first round of the ₹1 crore Kolar Open at Zion Hills Golf County near Bengaluru.
The 23-year-old made a blazing start with an eagle and four birdies. He chipped in for an eagle on the par-5 second hole, followed by consecutive birdies on the third and fourth to reach 4-under through four holes. He maintained his lead with additional birdies on the 11th and 13th holes.
Shaurya, who finished as runner-up in last year's inaugural edition, attributed his success to remaining patient despite windy conditions and a tough course layout.
