RSSB Opens Applications for 874 Junior Engineer Posts Across Key Departments in Rajasthan

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has invited applications for 874 Junior Engineer (JE) posts across multiple departments, including the Public Works Department (PWD), Water Resources Department and Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). The recruitment drive offers opportunities for candidates with degree and diploma qualifications in engineering disciplines.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications online from August 16 to September 14, 2026, through the Rajasthan SSO portal and recruitment portal at sso.rajasthan.gov.in.

The candidates are advised to follow the steps given below to complete the application process:

• Log in using your SSO ID
• Go to the Recruitment Portal
• Select Rajasthan JE Recruitment 2026
• Complete OTR registration, if not already done
• Fill in the application form
• Upload the required details and documents
• Review the form and submit it

The application process is entirely online, and candidates must ensure that all details are correctly filled before final submission.

Vacancy Details For RSSB

As per the official notification, a total of 874 vacancies have been announced. Out of these, 793 posts are allocated for the non-scheduled area, while 81 posts are for the scheduled area. The vacancies are spread across departments and qualifications as follows:

• Public Works Department: JE Civil (Degree) - 351 posts
• Public Works Department: JE Civil (Diploma) - 42 posts
• Water Resources Department: JE Civil (Degree) - 72 posts
• Water Resources Department: JE Civil (Diploma) - 179 posts
• Public Health Engineering Department: JE Civil (Degree) - 47 posts
• Public Health Engineering Department: JE Civil (Diploma) -151 posts

• Public Health Engineering Department: JE Mechanical/Electrical (Diploma) - 32 posts

The candidates applying for different categories of posts are required to submit separate applications.

Eligibility Criteria For RSSB

Applicants must have attained the age of 18 years and should not be more than 40 years old as on January 1, 2027. Age relaxation will be applicable as per Rajasthan government norms.

The recruitment includes posts for candidates with civil engineering degrees and diplomas, along with diploma-level posts in mechanical and electrical engineering under PHED.

Important Dates and Exam Details

The online application process commenced on August 16, 2026, and will remain open until September 14, 2026, up to 11:59 PM. Candidates are advised to complete their applications well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.

The recruitment examination is tentatively scheduled for February 2027. RSSB may conduct the exam through computer-based testing (CBT), tablet-based testing (TBT) or offline OMR mode.

The selection test will carry a total of 120 marks and will be conducted over a duration of two hours. For civil engineering degree and diploma posts, the question paper will include Rajasthan-related general knowledge along with subject-specific civil engineering questions. The exam will consist of multiple-choice questions.
