Pralay: Ranveer Singh Turns Producer For Jai Mehta’s Directorial Venture After Dhurandhar’s Historic Success

Ranveer Singh has become the first Bollywood actor to deliver the biggest hit of Hindi cinema. His last outing, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, turned out to be a massive hit at the box office. After that, the actor started working on his next film, Pralay, which is being helmed by Jai Mehta. As per reports, he has kickstarted shooting for the post-apocalyptic survival thriller in Mumbai. Kalyani Priyadarshan is the female lead of the Hindi film. The buzz around Pralay is huge. Amidst all this, a recent update about the project may excite fans of Ranveer Singh. The Dhurandhar star is all set to make his debut as a producer, as he will be bankrolling the Jai Mehta-directed film.

Ranveer Singh To Produce Pralay

After making history by delivering the biggest hit of Hindi cinema in the form of Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh has decided to step into production. This will be the first film which will be produced by Ranveer. Earlier, his wife, Deepika Padukone, produced films like Chhapaak and 83.

Now, it is Ranveer Singh’s time to bankroll his films and taste the success as a producer. For the unversed, the Jai Mehta film’s screenplay is written by him and writer Vishal Kapoor. As per early reports, the film is placed in a dystopian Mumbai devastated by a zombie outbreak, although the makers have not yet released the details about its plot.

According to Hansal Mehta, Ranveer Singh had himself approached Jai Mehta to direct the film after being impressed by his work. Jai had earlier co-directed projects including Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story and Lootere. Pralay is going to be a technically intensive project that has spent several months in pre-production. It is being shot at live locations across Mumbai.

Pralay is reportedly being made on a budget of Rs 300 crore. However, there is no official confirmation about the same. Ranveer Singh will also be acting in the film. He has also changed his schedule to be with his pregnant wife, Deepika Padukone, in Mumbai, as she is expected to welcome her second child with him in September 2026.
