JSW MG Motor India Launches Hector Tomahawk SUV in Bengaluru with EV and PHEV Options

JSW MG Motor India has officially launched its new SUV, the MG Hector Tomahawk, in Bengaluru, expanding its lineup with both Electric Vehicle (EV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) powertrain options. Built on MG’s new ADAPT platform, described as India’s first Multi-New Energy Vehicle (NEV) architecture, the Hector Tomahawk is available at MG dealerships across Bengaluru, combining dynamic design, smart connected features and electrified performance. For limited early bookings, JSW MG Motor India is offering an introductory Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program. The Hector Tomahawk EV is available with a BaaS starting price of ₹13.99 lakh, along with a battery rental of ₹4.90 per kilometre, while the full-ownership ex-showroom price starts at ₹19.49 lakh. The Hector Tomahawk PHEV starts at ₹21.79 lakh under the BaaS program with a battery rental of ₹3.20 per kilometre, while its full-ownership ex-showroom price starts at ₹25.69 lakh. In Bengaluru, the Hector Tomahawk EV is priced at ₹19,49,800 for the Excite 7-seater, ₹21,99,800 for the Exclusive 7-seater, ₹22,99,800 for the Essence 5-seater and ₹23,49,800 for the Essence 7-seater. The Hector Tomahawk PHEV is priced at ₹25,69,800 for the Exclusive 7-seater and ₹27,79,800 for the Essence 7-seater. The EV variant features a 69.2 kWh “Magic Battery” paired with a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque. It offers an MIDC-certified driving range of up to 517 km on a single charge and supports 90 kW DC fast charging. The PHEV variant, positioned as India’s first PHEV in its segment, combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine, Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and a 20.5 kWh battery pack. It offers more than 115 km of pure-electric driving range and a combined total driving range exceeding 1,100 km. The Hector Tomahawk also introduces Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) technology as a segment-first feature in India, allowing the SUV to function as a mobile power source for domestic appliances or provide backup power for the home. Measuring 4,745 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,770 mm in height, the SUV has a 2,810 mm wheelbase and 230 mm of ground clearance. The 5-seater layout offers 610 litres of boot space, adding to the vehicle’s practicality and cabin comfort. Technology features include a 15.6-inch HD grand view display, an 8.8-inch driver screen, a 10-speaker Infinity audio system, Level 2 ADAS and i-SMART 3.0 with more than 80 connected features. The SUV also gets an India-first GenAI voice assistant supporting more than 30 “Hinglish” commands. Safety equipment includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera with wheel view, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and all-wheel disc brakes. MG is also offering a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner on both EV and PHEV models. Bookings for the Hector Tomahawk are currently open at MG dealerships and through the official website. Deliveries of the Hector Tomahawk EV are scheduled to begin in September 2026, while test drives and deliveries of the Hector Tomahawk PHEV are set to commence in November 2026.
