The Karnataka government gave final approval to the 45-km Suburban Rail Corridor 2 connecting KSR Bengaluru City Station to Electronic City Phase 2, passing through Jayanagar, BTM Layout, HSR Layout and Silk Board.
The Rs 12,500 crore project, co-funded by the Central and State governments, will provide dedicated commuter rail service at 15-minute frequency during peak hours. With 22 stations planned, the corridor is expected to serve over 8 lakh daily commuters from IT corridors.
