Simu Liu has joined the growing promotional buzz around Avengers: Doomsday with a playful X (formerly Twitter) post. Sharing a teaser poster for the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, the Shang-Chi star jokingly described the project as a “little indie feature” and asked fans to support it. His tongue-in-cheek comment is particularly amusing given the enormous scale of the film and its star-studded cast.

He wrote, "please help me support this little indie feature im a part of! it secured a theatrical released in december and we all worked really hard on it. please help us spread the word!!"

Star-studded cast and massive MCU crossover

Avengers: Doomsday is expected to bring together characters from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its wider multiverse. The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously helmed Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The upcoming movie is also positioned as the first part of a two-film storyline, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to follow.

The cast features several major MCU names alongside characters from the Fantastic Four and X-Men universes. His casting was officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2024, where he appeared on stage in character before revealing his identity.

For Liu, the film also marks another major appearance as Shang-Chi following the character's introduction in the 2021 standalone movie. The actor has previously teased that audiences will see a more evolved version of Shang-Chi when he returns. His character is expected to encounter several powerful heroes and villains as the MCU continues expanding its multiverse narrative.
